Welcome to HI hostel Stigbergsliden. A place for good rest and exciting encounters in the heart of the city.

The beautiful old house has since 1854 been a venue for visitors on their way looking for new adventures. Now as a youth hostel, former as the old "Seamens house".

We offer quality hostelling all year around and we want to be your favorite place to stay. Our ambition is to create a welcoming atmosphere for rest and recreation in a historical environment. We therefore work hard to improve and adjust the hostel to your needs.

In the area
Within walking distance you find restaurants,cafés, theaters and cinemas. We are close to the ferrys to Denmark and Germany and up the hill is the Maritime museum.

The tram nr 3, 9 and 11 takes you to the city center in 10 min. Liseberg and Svenska mässan is 20 min away. Tram nr 11 takes you to Saltholmen in 20 min, from there you can continue out to one of the beautiful islands in the archipelago.

When you stay here, you stay in the middle of the history.
We have the church at Masthugget up on the hill behind us and the Maritime museum with the Mariner's tower, the grieving woman gazing out over the sea, 200 metres away. If you wake up early - dont miss the fish auction in the harbour. Take a walk along the waterline to "Klippan", "Röda sten" and further out to "Nya varvet".

Between 1999-2008 we had a diploma from the environmental administration in Göteborg. In november 2008 we changed partner to "Håll Sverige Rent". Read more about what we have done here.
